According to the US Bureau of Labor Statistics, workers are not staying around in organizations like they used to. Occupations like management, professional, and related occupations had the highest median tenure at 5 years. That is not a long time, but in today's work environment; it is. You can stay ahead of things by paying attention to trends and keeping your skills up. Go ahead and take the classes and learn new skills. If you do not have a mentor, this might be the time to get one. If you want to switch careers, start researching and learn as much as you can about that role and compare the qualifications with your current skill set. You can also conduct an informational interview with someone already working in that position. Often times you will be surprised how realistic a change could be for you. If you need to learn about the ins and outs of informational interviewing or how to select a mentor, you can always contact me to get you started. #StayMoxie
