I hate to break it to you but, the year is coming to a close. It is important for us to reflect on our projects that we conquered and the projects that were not as successful. In business we have to be aware of our accomplishments as well as our failures. Failures are just opportunities to improve, so that is not said to be negative.
Reflecting on your success is vital to your ability to get to the next level. When you are able to quantify your accomplishments, your resume and your reputation grows with your company. Although you might be relieved when a project is complete, you cannot forget it and move on.
Do the following as you reflect and think on how to quantify:
When you are in with our boss discussing your annual increase, this is the time to have this information. It is not up to your boss to remember everything you have done for the year; it is your responsibility to remind them.
The more information like this that you can provide, the more control you have over your career. When you take control, the C Suite takes notice and they realize that you are a contributing member of the organization.
